FAQ
What is the theme of the zine?
A Bond of Our Own is a celebration of Kirishima and Bakugou as queerplatonic partners! What does "queerplatonic" mean?
The term "queerplatonic relationship" (alternatively "quasiplatonic relationship") generally refers to a close bond between two or more people beyond platonic friendship without fitting into the traditional idea of a romantic relationship. For example, queerplatonic partners may do things like holding hands and kissing — with or without a romantic intention behind it. It's a purposefully open concept and as such, we left the exact interpretation up to each contributor! What does the final product consist of?
A zine in PDF format as well as a bundle of digital merch. This is a SFW project; there is no NSFW add-on.Is this zine for-profit or non-profit?
A Bond of Our Own is a non-profit zine. All our proceeds were donated to our charity of choice: KyivPride! This organization by and for the LGBTQ+ community in Kyiv, Ukraine is currently providing war relief such as medical aid and temporary shelters. You can check out their mission and work on their Instagram and Twitter as well. How many contributors are in this zine?
Including the contributing mods, our team of contributors consisted of eleven (11) writers, twenty-two (22) illustrators, five (5) merch artists and our cover artist. What were the specifications for final submissions in this zine?
Writers could submit between 2,500 and 8,000 words. Artists got to choose between single-page illustrations, a spread (2 pages), and a comic (up to 5 pages). Collaborations between writers and artists were allowed! What is okay and what's off-limits for the subject matter of my contributions?
Any NSFW content as well as graphic/triggering content (excessive blood, gore, and so on) is off-limits. Canon-typical violence and other themes shown in canon are fine, as are AUs and canon-divergent settings. All headcanons regarding the characters' sexuality, romantic attraction and gender identity are allowed and welcome!Where and when can I buy this?
This zine is free to download since April 2023. We ran pre-orders from September to November 2022 and offered aftersales throughout January 2023. With the donation of all proceeds on February 7th, this project has officially ended.Do the mods have zine experience?
